The work was shown as part of the Aesthetic Differences exhibition, Namegallery, St.Petersburg, Russia.

Curator: Sasha Obukhova

to exhibit in a gallery      – this thought frightens me, puts pressure on me with its seriousness: I won’t be able to pretend so big. Run away. Hide. I’m still wary of going to exhibitions as a spectator, and this… Liar. It can’t be that they all believe that I’m an artist. What should I do if I will be revealed?
To feel more secure, I build myself a shelter, a secluded corner. A tent is, on the one hand, a temporary shelter, on the other, a house that you carry with you. The house is most often intimate, sincere and kind (at least I would like to believe so). So I show myself to myself, here – I have a “place” in art. The fabric is covered with a print on the outside: painting is something that grows through any my work, which makes the boundary between me and contemporary art and at the same time is a point of contact. Here is the contact.
I proclaim the complexity of self-declaration, but still define myself in the artistic world. Am I no longer an impostor? Should I no longer look for evidence? Gallery, don’t be so cold. Let’s sit, drink tea, invite guests.
I am building a home for myself and for others. If the exhibition is uncomfortable, scary or incomprehensible (I agree, it happens), climb into the shelter, replenish your strength before new contacts with the world. Make yourself at home.
